The Ellis Campbell Foundation has been a long-term supporter of St. Michael’s Hospice, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
During the Covid pandemic, St. Michael’s has been in the front line of the response to the Coronavirus. Bed capacity has been expanded substantially to ease the pressure on Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in providing end-of-life care, now including patients suffering from Covid-19. Hospice management and staff are working round-the-clock to provide this crucial support to the community. At the same time, following government guidance, St. Michael’s has had to close all its shops and suspend almost all normal fund-raising activities. To survive the crisis and to continue to be able to provide the care for which the Hospice is renowned, the Hospice launched a Crisis Appeal in April 2020 to which Trustees made a donation of £5,000.
Future Funding
Having supported a broad range of inspiring and transformational projects over the Foundation’s 30 year history, the Trustees decided to embark upon a strategic review to ensure our grants were having the greatest impact. In 2020 we completed an intensive eight month programme led by Ten Years’ Time and we’re thrilled to be focussing all our efforts now on building Youth Power and Leadership with some fantastic partners.
